The 2025 Elk River Writers Workshop will be held from August 10 to August 15 at Chico Hot Springs, a historic retreat in Pray, Montana, near Yellowstone National Park. The program features workshops, craft talks, outings, lectures, panel discussions, and campfire readings for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Kimberly Blaeser and Angie Trudell Vasquez, poet and memoirist Deborah A. Miranda, novelists Debra Magpie Earling and Oscar Hokeah, and memoirist Thomas C. Gannon. Tuition, which includes meals, is $1,700; some scholarships are available.

The Paris Writer’s Residency will offer a monthlong residency in October to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at the American University of Paris. The resident is provided with an en suite single or double room, which includes a work desk, at the Irish Cultural Center in Paris. Some rooms include a private study space, and residents have access to a shared kitchen. Access to the library at the Ecole Normale Supérieure is also offered. The resident receives travel reimbursement of up to €1,500 (approximately $1,544).

The American University of Paris Summer Creative Writing Institute will offer workshops to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers from July 1 to July 23 on the university’s campus in the seventh arrondissement of Paris. The faculty includes poet and fiction writer Siân Melangell Dafydd; poet, fiction writer, and nonfiction writer Biswamit Dwibedy; poet and nonfiction writer Lisa Robertson; and fiction writer Amanda Dennis. The cost of tuition is €2,224 (approximately $2,289) for auditors or €4,448 (approximately $4,577) for transferable academic credit.

The Lighthouse Writers Workshop’s 2025 Lit Fest was held from June 6 to June 13 online and at the Lighthouse Writers Workshop headquarters in Denver. The festival featured weekend and weeklong workshops, craft seminars, salons, business panels, and agent consultations for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers.
