The Orion Environmental Writers’ Workshop, cosponsored by the Omega Institute, will be held from June 23 to June 28 at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. The conference features workshops, readings, lectures, publishing panels, and individual manuscript consultations with faculty for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Sherwin Bitsui and Major Jackson, fiction writer Amy Irvine, and nonfiction writers Bronwen Dickey, John Elder, and Scott Russell Sanders. Participating publishing professionals include agent Paul Lucas ( Janklow & Nesbit) and editors Chris Cox (Orion) and Alane Salierno Mason (Norton). The cost of tuition is $995. Lodging is available at the Omega Institute from $495 for camping to $1,370 for a private room in a cabin. Using the online submission system, submit six poems or up to 1,500 words of prose by May 23. There is no application fee. Limited financial aid is available.
