The Fine Arts Work Center’s annual summer workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction were held from June 12 to August 25 in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Themed weeks included the Annual Poetry Festival and A Celebration of Memoir: Women’s Voices. The faculty included poets Sophie Cabot Black, Elizabeth Bradfield, Michael Burkard, Gabrielle Calvocoressi, Martha Collins, Natalie Diaz, Nick Flynn, Rachel Eliza Griffiths, Kimiko Hahn, Marie Howe, Rebecca Gayle Howell, Patricia Spears Jones, Robin Coste Lewis, Ada Limón, Fred Marchant, Gail Mazur, John Murillo, Eileen Myles, Matthew Olzmann, Gregory Pardlo, Martha Rhodes, Brenda Shaughnessy, Tim Seibles, and Alan Shapiro; fiction writers Amy Bloom, Angela Flournoy, Julia Glass, Pam Houston, Fanny Howe, Reif Larsen, James Lecesne, Victoria Redel, Sarah Schulman, Salvatore Scibona, Justin Torres, and Laura van den Berg; and creative nonfiction writers Jill Bialosky, Garrard Conley, Stephen Elliott, Melissa Febos, Kristin Hersh, Ann Hood, Michael Klein, Paul Lisicky, Richard McCann, Lacy M. Johnson, Wendy C. Ortiz, Dani Shapiro, Susanna Sonnenberg, Brian Turner, and Joan Wickersham. Tuition ranged from $600 to $725. Housing was available at nearby guesthouses and inns; campus housing was limited and first come, first served. The deadline for scholarship applications was April 14.
