Massachusetts Poetry Festival

The 2025 Massachusetts Poetry Festival, sponsored by Mass Poetry, was held from May 30 to June 1 at several venues throughout Salem, Massachusetts, including the House of the Seven Gables, Old Town Hall, the Peabody Essex Museum, and St. Peter’s Church. Programming included headline readings, workshops, panels, a small press fair, multimedia events, open mics, and live performances. Participating poets include Diannely Antigua, Marilyn Chin, Ross Gay, Saeed Jones, Danez Smith, and Felicia Zamora.

Chuckanut Writers Conference

The 2026 annual Chuckanut Writers Conference, cohosted by Village Books and Paper Dreams, Sidekick Press, and Chanticleer Book Reviews, will be held from June 25 to June 27 at Sehome High School in Bellingham, Washington. The Frost Place

The Frost Place Poetry Seminar will be held online from August 2 to August 6. The seminar features poetry workshops, craft talks, and faculty and student readings. Anne LaBastille Memorial Writers Residency

The Adirondack Center for Writing will offer a two-week residency from September 20 to October 4 to six poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers at a lodge on Twitchell Lake in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. Three residents will be chosen from the Adirondack region and three will be chosen from anywhere else in the world. Residents are each provided with a private room and bathroom, work space, and meals. There is no cost to attend the residency, but residents are responsible for travel expenses to and from Twitchell Lake.

Salty Quill Writers’ Retreat for Women

The Salty Quill Writers’ Retreat for Women offers one-week residencies four times a year to twelve poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators who identify as women at McGee Island, a 110-acre private island located three miles east of Port Clyde, Maine. Residents are provided with lodging at a turn-of-the-century oceanfront summer cottage in single- or shared-occupancy rooms, three chef-prepared meals a day, transportation to and from the island, and the opportunity to participate in after-dinner readings and critiques as well as to kayak, hike, and use the onsite sauna.

The 30th annual Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) Postgraduate Writers’ Conference was held from August 2 to August 8, 2025, on the Champlain College campus in Burlington, Vermont. Chesapeake Writers’ Conference

Gell Writing Residency

The Gell Writing Residency, sponsored by Writers & Books, offers one- to three-week residencies year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Gell: A Finger Lakes Creative Retreat in Naples, New York, situated on 24 acres in the Bristol Mountain foothills. Residents are provided with a renovated cottage with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a spacious living and dining area with a writing nook, and an outdoor deck. Lodging costs are $85 per day for three to six days, $76 per day for 7 to 12 days, and $69 per day for 13 to 19 days.
