The 30th annual Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) Postgraduate Writers’ Conference was held from August 2 to August 8, 2025, on the Champlain College campus in Burlington, Vermont. Designed for writers with graduate degrees or equivalent experience, the conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as readings, craft talks, and one-on-one consultations with faculty members. Each workshop was limited to five or six participants. The faculty included poets Kathleen Graber, Tomás Q.

Chesapeake Writers’ Conference

The 13th annual Chesapeake Writers’ Conference will be held from June 21 to June 27 on the St. Mary’s College campus in St. Mary’s City, Maryland. The conference features lectures, craft talks, readings, panel discussions, and daily workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Gell Writing Residency

The Gell Writing Residency, sponsored by Writers & Books, offers one- to three-week residencies year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Gell: A Finger Lakes Creative Retreat in Naples, New York, situated on 24 acres in the Bristol Mountain foothills. Residents are provided with a renovated cottage with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a spacious living and dining area with a writing nook, and an outdoor deck. Lodging costs are $85 per day for three to six days, $76 per day for 7 to 12 days, and $69 per day for 13 to 19 days.

Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers

The 39th annual Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers will be held from June 23 to June 28 at Wallowa Lake Lodge on the shores of Wallowa Lake, Oregon. Sunlit Residency

Sunlit Residency offers weekly residencies of one to three weeks and monthly residencies of up to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators at the Sue-Je Lee Gage Residency for Human Rights and Social Justice in Ithaca, New York. Loghaven Artist Residency

Loghaven offers residencies of two to six weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in five refurbished historic log cabins and newly built facilities on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee. The residency includes an $850 weekly stipend for supplies and expenses, a travel subsidy on a sliding scale from $400 to $800, and up to $200 in reimbursement for shipping materials.

Vasto Arts Workshops
