The 31st annual Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference was be held online from July 30 to August 1. The virtual conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as craft talks, readings, manuscript consultations, open mics, and panels with agents and editors. An optional online post-conference Publishing Boot Camp was held on August 2 and could be added to the conference or taken as a stand-alone workshop. The faculty included poet Michelle Peñaloza; fiction writers Julie Buntin, Anita Felicelli, Tomas Moniz, and Susan Stinson; and nonfiction writers Rahawa Haile and Christine Hyung-Oak Lee. Participating publishing professionals included agents Ayesha Pande (Ayesha Pande Literary) and Marya Spence (Janklow & Nesbit) and freelance editor Shirin Yim Leos. The cost of the conference was $475, with manuscript consultations available for an additional $60. The cost of the Publishing Boot Camp was $125. Writers registered online by June 30.
