The 32nd annual Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers was held from July 8 to July 14 at the Wallowa Lake Lodge in Wallowa Lake, Oregon. The program featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions, craft talks, and open mics. The theme for the 2019 conference was “Steering the Craft” in honor of Ursula Le Guin. The faculty included poets Anis Mojgani and Kim Stafford; fiction writers Jamie Ford, Scott Russell Sanders, Nisi Shawl, and Sharma Shields; fiction and nonfiction writer Beth Piatote; and nonfiction writer Perrin Kerns. Tuition ranged from $300 for a weekend pass to $925 for the full conference. Lodging in tent camps was available at the Wallowa Lake Camp for $20 per night. Registration was first come, first served.
