The 31st annual Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers was held from July 9 to July 15 at the Wallowa Lake Camp and Retreat Center in Wallowa Lake, Oregon. The program featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions, readings, and open mics. The theme for the 2018 conference was “Living Upstream.” The faculty included poets Kim Stafford and Joe Wilkins, fiction writers Nina McConigley and Laura Pritchett, and nonfiction writers Bear Guerra, Ruxandra Guidi, Tim Z. Hernandez, and Jennifer Sahn. Nonfiction writer Kathleen Dean Moore delivered the keynote. Tuition ranged from $300 for a weekend pass to $895 for a five-day workshop. Lodging was available at the Wallowa Lake Camp for $190 per week for tent camping and bunk houses. Registration was first come, first served. Visit the website for more information.
