Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference

The 2025 Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference will be held from July 31 to August 2 on the Mendocino Coast in California. Mesa Verde Writers Conference

The Mesa Verde Writers Conference, sponsored by Mancos Creative District, will be held on July 10 and July 11 at the Mancos Commons Building in downtown Mancos, Colorado. The conference features workshops for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers, and is followed on July 12 by a literary festival with pop-up activities throughout Mancos. Participating authors include poet January Gill O’Neil, poet and fiction writer Lisa C. Taylor, and fiction writers Angie Hodapp and Mark Stevens. The cost of the conference, which includes workshops, readings, and meals, is $425.

North Carolina Writers’ Network Squire Summer Writing Workshops

The 2025 North Carolina Writers’ Network (NCWN) Squire Summer Writing Workshops will be held from July 24 to July 27 at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panels, readings, and open mics. The faculty includes poet Junious Ward, fiction writer Bryn Chancellor, and nonfiction writer Maddie Norris. The Studios of Key West

The Studios of Key West offers monthlong residencies to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers at the Old Town campus in Key West, Florida. Residents are provided with private lodging and work space. There is no cost to attend the residency, but residents are expected to participate in one community event during their stay. Residents are responsible for their own meals and transportation expenses.

Sunlit Residency

Sunlit Residency offers weekly residencies of one to three weeks and monthly residencies of up to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators at the Sue-Je Lee Gage Residency for Human Rights and Social Justice in Ithaca, New York. The residency offers time and space to write and one-on-one consultations by request. The faculty includes fiction writer Nick Kowalczyk, creative nonfiction writer Hannah Bae, and translator Annette H. Levine.

Poetry Contest for Emerging Poets
