The 2021 North Carolina Writers’ Network (NCWN) Squire Summer Writing Workshops was held from July 22 to July 25 at Appalachian State University in Boone. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panels, readings, and open mics. The faculty included poet Kathryn Kirkpatrick; fiction writer Mark Powell; and nonfiction writer Zackary Vernon. The cost of the conference was $725 ($675 for NCWN members), which included tuition and shared lodging; the cost for commuters was $575 ($425 for NCWN members). A limited number of scholarships were available; writers submitted a curriculum vitae and statement of intent. Registration was first come, first served. Visit the website for more information.
