The 2023 North Carolina Writers’ Network (NCWN) Squire Summer Writing Workshops was held from July 20 to July 23 at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panels, readings, and open mics. The faculty included poet Joseph Mills, fiction writer Sheryl Monks, and essayist and memoirist Cassandra Kircher. The cost of the conference was $750 ($675 for NCWN members), which included tuition, group meals, and shared lodging; the cost for commuters was $600 ($450 for NCWN members). A limited number of scholarships were available; writers submitted a curriculum vitae and statement of intent. Registration was first come, first served, and was required to be received and paid in full by July 7. Visit the website for more information.
