Tremont Writers Conference

The Tremont Writers Conference will be held from October 22 to October 26 at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, located in the eponymous national park six miles southwest of Townsend, Tennessee. The conference features workshops, author readings, and craft talks for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers, as well as outdoor activities, including hikes and campfires. The faculty includes poet Maurice Manning, fiction writers David Joy and Karen Spears Zacharias, and nonfiction writer Crystal Wilkinson.

Atlanta Writers Conference

The spring 2025 Atlanta Writers Conference, sponsored by the Atlanta Writers Club, will be held on May 2 and May 3 at the Westin Atlanta Airport Hotel. Elk River Writers Workshop

The 2025 Elk River Writers Workshop will be held from August 10 to August 15 at Chico Hot Springs, a historic retreat in Pray, Montana, near Yellowstone National Park. The program features workshops, craft talks, outings, lectures, panel discussions, and campfire readings for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Kimberly Blaeser and Angie Trudell Vasquez, poet and memoirist Deborah A. Miranda, novelists Debra Magpie Earling and Oscar Hokeah, and memoirist Thomas C. Gannon. Paris Writer’s Residency

The Paris Writer’s Residency will offer a monthlong residency in October to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at the American University of Paris. The resident is provided with an en suite single or double room, which includes a work desk, at the Irish Cultural Center in Paris. Some rooms include a private study space, and residents have access to a shared kitchen. Access to the library at the Ecole Normale Supérieure is also offered. The resident receives travel reimbursement of up to €1,500 (approximately $1,544).

The Writer’s Retreat at Good Contrivance Farm

Good Contrivance Farm, an educational nonprofit, offers residencies of up to four weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on a Victorian farm in Reisterstown, Maryland, located 24 miles north of Baltimore.
