With the spread of COVID-19, organizers of literary events across the United States have devised creative ways to move programming online and build community among writers.
The 24th annual Get Lit! Festival was held online and in person from April 21 to April 24 at various venues in and around Spokane, Washington. The festival featured readings, craft classes, and panel discussions for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Participating writers included poets Taneum Bambrick, Chen Chen, and Rena Priest; poet, translator, and memoirist Rajiv Mohabir; poet, fiction writer, and nonfiction writer Beth Piatote; and fiction writers Lesley Nneka Arimah and Brandon Hobson.

The 2022 Sarah Lawrence College Poetry Festival was held from April 8 to April 10 on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, located 30 minutes by train from New York City. The festival features workshops, readings, panel discussions, and craft talks. Participating poets included Rosebud Ben-Oni, sam sax, Paul Tran, and Jane Wong.
