The 26th annual Get Lit! Festival was held online and in person from April 11 to April 14 at various venues in and around Spokane, Washington. The festival featured readings, writing workshops, craft classes, open mics, and panel discussions for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. Participating writers included poets Claudia Castro Luna, Luther Hughes, Jennifer Perrine, Arianne True, and Maya Jewell Zeller; fiction writers Alma García, Juan Carlos Reyes, Sharma Shields, and Ashley Wurzbacher; and nonfiction writer Emilly Prado. Fiction and nonfiction writer Carmen Maria Machado gave a reading and participated in an on-stage conversation with Sharma Shields as the festival headliner. Several events were free; select events, including craft classes and headlining events, ranged from $5 to $45 and required advance registration. Lodging was available at local hotels for discounted rates. All tickets were available by March 1 and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the website for more information.
