Badlands is aesthetically open, publishing work from a broad spectrum of genres and styles. Although we publish work of all kinds, we have an abiding interest in the following kinds of writing:

  • Poetry and prose in Spanish, and in translation from Spanish or any other Language,
  • Literature of Place, including, but not limited to, imigrant and indigenous voices,
  • Work exploring settings, narratives, lyric utterances, etc., that can be construed as a kind of Badlands--broadly understood,
  • Work invested in the wild.

We are always searching for the next cover, and for (mostly) Black and White artwork and photography for the interior.

S & H Publishing has one goal in mind - providing quality books for our readers. We constantly search for talented writers. Our aim is to provide our authors with many of the advantages of having a publisher, while letting them retain much of the freedom of a self-published author. Just as the contemporary woman is not restricted by genre or age, talent is not restricted by distance or national borders. We pride ourselves on our international community of talented writers.

Please read our submission guidelines. We tailor our style sheet to the country of the author.
