North Carolina Writers’ Network Squire Summer Writing Workshops

The 2025 North Carolina Writers’ Network (NCWN) Squire Summer Writing Workshops will be held from July 24 to July 27 at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panels, readings, and open mics. The faculty includes poet Junious Ward, fiction writer Bryn Chancellor, and nonfiction writer Maddie Norris. The cost of the conference is $799 ($699 for NCWN members), which includes tuition, group meals, and single-room on-campus housing; the cost for commuters is $599 ($449 for NCWN members).

Sunlit Residency

Sunlit Residency offers weekly residencies of one to three weeks and monthly residencies of up to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators at the Sue-Je Lee Gage Residency for Human Rights and Social Justice in Ithaca, New York. The residency offers time and space to write and one-on-one consultations by request. The faculty includes fiction writer Nick Kowalczyk, creative nonfiction writer Hannah Bae, and translator Annette H. Levine.

Taos Writers Conference

The ninth annual Taos Writers Conference will be held from July 25 to July 27 at Society of the Muse of the Southwest, a literary organization in Taos, New Mexico. Vasto Arts Workshop

The 2025 Vasto Arts Workshop will be held from September 6 to September 13 at the liberty-style Villa Monteferrante in the town of Vasto, Italy, which overlooks the Adriatic Sea. Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers

The 38th annual Summer Fishtrap Gathering of Writers will be held from July 7 to July 13 at Wallowa Lake Lodge on the shores of Wallowa Lake, Oregon. The weeklong conference features generative writing workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panel discussions, craft talks, open mics, and readings.
