Headlands Center for the Arts

Headlands Center for the Arts offers four- to ten-week residencies from mid-March to mid-November to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and graphic novelists at its retreat center in the coastal wilderness of the Marin Headlands outside San Francisco. Residents are provided with a private bedroom and work space in a shared house, round-trip airfare, four meals per week, and a $1,000 monthly stipend. Writers not currently enrolled in an academic program are eligible.

Loghaven Artist Residency

May/June 2025

Loghaven offers residencies of two to six weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in five rehabilitated historic log cabins and newly built facilities on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee. The residency includes an $850 weekly stipend for supplies and expenses, a travel subsidy on a sliding scale from $400 to $800, and up to $200 in reimbursement for shipping materials.

Indiana University Writers’ Conference

May/June 2025

The 2025 Indiana University Writers’ Conference will be held from June 5 to June 8 at University of Indiana in Bloomington. The conference features workshops, craft classes, panel discussions, and readings for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets janan alexandra and Safia Elhillo, fiction writers Stephen Amidon and Marguerite Sheffer, creative nonfiction writer John Cotter, and memoirist Elisa Gabbert. Mesa Verde Writers Conference

The Mesa Verde Writers Conference, sponsored by Mancos Creative District, will be held on July 10 and July 11 at the Mancos Commons Building in downtown Mancos, Colorado. The conference features workshops for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers, and is followed on July 12 by a literary festival with pop-up activities throughout Mancos. North Carolina Writers’ Network Squire Summer Writing Workshops

The 2025 North Carolina Writers’ Network (NCWN) Squire Summer Writing Workshops will be held from July 24 to July 27 at Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as panels, readings, and open mics.
