Headlands Center for the Arts offers four- to eight-week residencies from May to mid-November to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in the coastal wilderness of the Marin Headlands outside San Francisco. Residents are provided with lodging, work space, five meals per week, and a $500 monthly stipend. Students enrolled in a degree-granting program are ineligible. For residencies in 2017, submit a writing sample of up to 20 pages of poetry or 30 pages of prose, a letter of interest, a résumé, and a list of three references with a $45 application fee by June 3.
