Headlands Center for the Arts offers four- to eight-week residencies from June to early November to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in the coastal wilderness of the Marin Headlands outside San Francisco. Residents are provided with a private bedroom and work space in a shared house, round-trip airfare, five meals per week, and a $1,000 monthly stipend. For residencies in 2024, submit a writing sample of up to 20 pages of poetry or 30 pages of prose, a letter of interest, a résumé, and contact information for three references by June 5. The application fee is $35 until May 8 and $45 thereafter. Visit the website for more information.
