Author's Bio

Ann Tweedy's first full length book, The Body's Alphabet, was published by Headmistress Press in 2016 and was awarded a Bisexual Book Award in Poetry. It was also a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award and a Golden Crown Literary Society Award. She also has published three chapbooks, the first of which, Beleaguered Oases, was re-issued by Seven Kitchens Press in Spring 2020. Her third, hybrid chapbook, A Registry of Survival, was published by Last Word Press in Olympia, WA in December 2020. The manuscript was previously a finalist for Gazing Grain Press's annual chapbook award. Her poetry has appeared in Clackamas Literary Review, Rattle, literary mama, and elsewhere. She has twice been nominated for both a Pushcart Prize and a Best of the Net Award. Ann holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University. Originally from Massachusetts, she has lived in many places on the West Coast and in the Midwest.  She recently moved to South Dakota from Washington State to join the faculty at University of South Dakota School of Law.
