This magazine is looking for the in-depth authenticity of what the artist can create by dishing out their ideas and feelings. Our team is looking for a diverse spectrum of essays, prose, short fiction, art, poetry and more! We want pieces that will knock us to our feet — in a good way.
Vagabonds is a literary journal that is published twice a year. We harbor the mad ones. People who are dedicated to their work to the point that they become misunderstood, or seen as a hot mess of crazy. Our journal does not seek to break boundaries, we want to break boundaries and go farther. We want the shameless—the deep dark, cigarettes and dirty words combo. Although there is not a set theme of what we’re looking for, we often look at slice-of-life works.
Our work explores how place shapes identity, imagination, and understanding. The journal is published bi-annually online and features fiction, poetry, nonfiction, visual arts, reviews, and more. We also publish poetry chapbooks through our Gloria E. Anzaldúa Poetry Prize and Emerging Poet Submissions and prose chapbooks through our Newfound Prose Prize.
We call ourselves an “alternative” magazine; that is to say: our purpose is to promote work that is thought-provoking and unconventional. We want the controversial and the radical, the unhinged and the bizarre; we want the obsessive, the compulsive, the pervasive, the combative, and the seductive. We believe that every work of quality art has a home where it belongs, and for the “alternative,” the Matador Review is a home.
Raspa Magazine is a response to the paucity of queer Latino literature readily available to readers. It is a biannual queer literary magazine that focuses on the Latino perspective. Raspa intends to showcase the experience of queer Latino artists, thereby providing a better understanding for ourselves as peers and for those outside of our community.
Nude Bruce Review is a nonprofit publication. Simply put, we strive to publish compelling and high-quality work and to allow emerging and existing writers from the United States and beyond the opportunity to establish face and to showcase their talents.
Our tastes are eclectic, so any subject matter is welcome. In terms of forms of poetry, we're partial towards free verse, narrative, and experimental, but a well-crafted sonnet, ghazal, or pantoum can also make us swoon. When it comes down to brass tacks, our hope is to read something and be benevolently envious that we didn't write it. Please refer to our previous issues on our website to infer some of our preferences; moreover, please refer to our website for our submission guidelines. Peace, love, and Bruce.
Our mission is to create a space for writers to share their mystic creativity. We accept submissions from writers and artists of all ages from all across the globe.
