bedfellows is a thematic, philadelphia-based literary magazine that seeks to catalog contemporary discussions of desire & intimacy, with a particular focus on underrepresented & marginalized voices. we publish work that we feel subverts (or confronts) the stigmas that are often attached to sex-focused writing.
while bedfellows publishes exclusively sex, intimacy, & desire-themed work, please note that we are not interested in traditional erotica writing.
apt is a literary journal featuring challenging writing that combines the cerebral and the visceral. We publish an annual print issue focused on longform work, and our website is updated frequently with short fiction, poetry, and essays.

all the sins is a quarterly digital magazine that encourages writers and artists to have courage and to sin against staid storytelling. Break rules, push boundaries and tell new stories in new ways. Just tell a good story. It was conceived as a blend of visual, digital and written art that takes storytelling to new limits, asks questions and explores the worlds in which art is made. Responses, challenges and reinventions welcome. We also publish regular features on arts-related topics and encourage submissions for these.
We are particularly interested in work that uses the internet and digital media for the opportunities they present. By 'sinful' we mean art that represents voices and stories that have not traditionally been represented in literary arts magazines - we don't mean erotica, though sex may have a role to play in a given work.
To identify new and emerging writers and visual artists who have a particular focus on re-defining the landscape of their artform. Artists of color and those others who are traditionally underrepresented in the field are especially encouraged to submit work. aaduna seeks creative visionaries who find refuge within the complexities and ironies of the written word.
Please submit unpublished creative material that intrigues and expands the reader's imagination while exploring the full range of human understanding and dignity. During 2012, we are keenly interested in presenting spoken word and video performances. Write us for further details. Visit www.aaduna.org for detailed submission procedures. We want to share the stories you’ve been told not to tell.
We publish poetry, non-fiction, and hybrid work by people who identify as or alongside female/trans/non-binary, and who write about existing in a world that tells you your stories are not worthy of art. We believe that your stories are worthy, and we believe in the importance of telling them.
We’re looking for work that is raw and real and good. Tell us the stories you worry aren’t cool enough to be literature. The ones someone in workshop called “too confessional.” The ones that show us what it means to live in your body and in this world. We want to weep with you and cheer for you and rage with you. We know that deeply personal work can be and is art of the highest form, and we’re excited that you want to share yours with us.
UAM undergraduates solicit enticing writing from emerging and established authors, art and photography, and graphic literature.
Please read us before submitting and read the guidelines. We like to publish people we haven't previously published.
