The Fiction Desk publishes a range of short stories from new and emerging authors, with a focus on strong plots and characters. We're based in the UK, but we accept submissions from authors around the world.

Please read the submission guidelines before submitting. It's also a good idea (as always) to read one of our anthologies. They're available as paperback as well as ebook formats, and you can download the first volume free on our website. We only accept online submissions.

C&R Press began in 2006 as a literary press committed to publishing books from new and emerging poets whose work might otherwise be ignored by commercial publishers. We were interested in supporting authors whose thoughtful and imaginative contribution to contemporary literature deserved recognition and support. We've since expanded our catalog to include exciting new fiction and creative nonfiction and reportage/journalism, too.

Do understand that we get more submissions per month than we could ever publish in a lifetime. Please don't take rejections personally. We frequently reject books that are picked up at other presses!
