Anderson Center Artist Residency Program

The 2024 Anderson Center Artist Residency Program offers residencies of two weeks or one month from August through October to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Tower View, a 350-acre historic estate in Red Wing, Minnesota. Residents are provided with a private room, studio space, and meals. To apply, writers submitted a writing sample of up to 10 pages, artist and community engagement statements, and a work plan with a $30 application fee by January 14, 2025.

Good Hart Artist Residency

The Good Hart Artist Residency offers two- to three-week residencies year-round to artists and writers, including poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers, in the woods bordering the “Tunnel of Trees” Scenic Heritage Route in Good Hart, Michigan, a village located on Lake Michigan. One artist or writer attends the residency at a time. The resident is provided with a private bedroom, a living room, an open loft with a reading area, a patio, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

Todos Santos Writers Workshop Winter Session

The 2025 Todos Santos Writers Workshop Winter Session was held from February 1, 2025, to February 8, 2025, in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The workshop offered daily classes and craft seminars in poetry, fiction, and memoir; one-on-one consultations with faculty; an open mic; a fiesta featuring regional food and cocktails; and beach hikes. The faculty included poet and nonfiction writer Christopher Merrill, fiction and nonfiction writers Gina Frangello and Karen Karbo, nonfiction writer Rex Weiner, and memoirist Jeanne McCulloch. The cost of tuition was $2,200.

Event Horizon

Event Horizon offers residencies of two weeks to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on eight acres of olive groves in Crete, Greece. Residents are provided with lodging on site or in nearby affiliate housing, which includes a traditional Cretan house, a converted stone windmill, and two caravans, as well as work space in modern studios built from converted shipping containers. Residents will have access to nearby beaches and towns, including Fourní Village, Mirabello Bay, and Neapolis.

William Matthews Poetry Prize

Pacific Residency Writers Conference

The Pacific Residency Writers Conference, sponsored by Pacific University’s creative writing MFA program, was held from January 9, 2025, to January 19, 2025, in the beachside resort town of Seaside, Oregon. The conference featured craft talks, workshops, panels, roundtable discussions, and student and faculty readings for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty included poets Ellen Bass, Leila Chatti, Adrienne Christian, Eduardo C. Corral, Kwame Dawes, Tyree Daye, Frank X.

Rising Writer Prize
