The Good Hart Residency Program offers two- to three-week residencies to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in Good Hart, Michigan, a rural town on the scenic route known as the "Tunnel of Trees," within walking distance to Lake Michigan. The resident is provided with lodging in a private apartment that includes a full kitchen, full bath, and studio space, as well as most meals and a $500 stipend. Transportation to and from the residency is not included. The resident has opportunities to interact with the local community through workshops and presentations. Writers over the age of 21 who are pursuing writing as a career were eligible to apply. For residencies from September 21 to October 5, 2018, using the online submission system, writer submitted a writing sample of three to five pages of poetry or prose works-in-progress, a resume, and contact information for two references with a $25 application fee by January 31, 2018.
