The 2022 General Artist Residency Program offers residencies of two weeks or one month during May, September, and October to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Tower View, a 350-acre historic estate in Red Wing, Minnesota. A private room, studio space, and all meals are provided. Using only the online application system,writers submitted a writing sample of up to 10 pages; a résumé, curriculum vitae, or biographical statement; artist and community engagement statements; and a work plan with a $20 application fee by January 15. The 2022 Jerome Emerging Artist Residency Program, sponsored by the Jerome Foundation, offers residencies of two or four weeks in August to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Tower View. Emerging writers and translators who are residents of Minnesota or New York City are eligible to apply. Residents are provided with a private room, meals, and studio space, as well as a travel stipend and an honorarium of $625 per week. Using only the online application system, writers submitted a writing sample of up to 10 pages; a résumé, curriculum vitae, or biographical statement; artist, emerging artist, and community engagement statements; and a work plan by January 15. The 2022 Deaf Artists Residency Program, supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, offers month-long residencies in June to Deaf poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Tower View. Deaf writers who live in the United States and use American Sign Language as their first or adopted language are eligible. Residents are provided with a private room, meals, and studio space, as well as a travel reimbursement of up to $500 and an honorarium of $1,100. Using the online application system, writers submitted a writing sample of up to 10 pages; a résumé, curriculum vitae, or biographical statement; an artist statement; and a work plan by January 15.
