The 40th annual Write on the Sound conference was held in person at the Frances Anderson Center in Edmonds, Washington, from October 3 to October 5; online preconference sessions was held on September 27. Texas Book Festival

The 2025 Texas Book Festival was held on November 8 and November 9 around the Texas State Capitol in downtown Austin. The festival featured panels, discussions, and book signings with more than 250 authors and hosts nearly 100 exhibiting vendors from magazines, presses, and other literary organizations. Participating writers included poets Ada Limón and Cecily Parks; fiction writers Marcy Dermansky, Nathan Harris, Brandon Hobson, Miriam Toews, and Bryan Washington; fiction and nonfiction writer Amy Tan; and nonfiction writers Skip Hollandsworth, Ibram X. Kendi, and Andrew Ross Sorkin.

Djerassi Resident Artists Program

The Djerassi Resident Artists Program offers monthlong residencies from February through November to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on a 583-acre ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains, approximately 37 miles south of San Francisco. Residents are provided with a private barn loft or studio, which includes a bed, a work space, and a bathroom (which may be shared with one other person) as well as meals.

Troubadour International Poetry Prize
