The 34th annual Write on the Sound Writers Conference, a program of the Edmonds Arts Commission, was held from October 4 to October 6 at the Frances Anderson Center in the waterfront town of Edmonds, Washington. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as manuscript consultations and information sessions on publishing and marketing. The faculty included poet Ken Letko; fiction writers Mary Buckham, Megan Chance, Robert Dugoni, and Michael Niemann; nonfiction writers Suzanne Paola Antonetta, Ann Hedreen, and Karen Treiger; independent editors Shirin Bridges and Kerrie Flanagan; and writing coach William Kenower. Fiction and nonfiction writer Charles R. Johnson delivered the keynote. The cost of the conference ranged from $85 to $303. Manuscript consultations were available for $42.
