Write on the Sound

The 41st annual Write on the Sound conference will be held in person at the Frances Anderson Center in Edmonds, Washington, from October 2 to October 4; online pre-conference sessions will be held on September 26. The conference features craft sessions, workshops, a writing contest, an open mic, manuscript and poetry critiques, and information sessions on publishing and marketing for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Catherine Broadwall, Ching-in Chen, Amelia Díaz Ettinger, Margaret Sáraco, and Derek Sheffield; fiction writers Tara Campbell, Rebecca Demarest, Anne Elliott, Noreen Graf, Becca Rose Hall, Leslie J. Hall, Erik Glen Hamilton, Robin Jeffrey, A. Muia, Kris Neri, Lynne Pearson, Kim Purcell, G.G. Silverman, and Eric Witchey; fiction and nonfiction writer Michael N. McGregor; and nonfiction writers Bob Balmer, Christine Dubois, Gail Folkins, Deb Miller, and Sanjukta Shams. Participating publishing professionals include agents Mark Gottlieb (Trident Media Group) and Scott Eagan (Greyhaus), editors Katie Chambers (Beacon Point) and Christine Pinto (Allegory Editing), attorney Tara Jacobi, and book coach Annemarie Kelly. Fiction writer Debra Magpie Earling will deliver the keynote address. Conference registration is à la carte with virtual and in person programming ranging from $95 to $290.
