I have spent most of my life as a transactional and corporate lawyer. I have written and published articles in my area to generate business. But for recreation, I have written poetry and some short fiction pieces.  Some of the poetry has been published. But I have not been rigorous in submitting my work. I love reading and want to write stories that I would want to read.  I am mostly retired and am now able to write fiction and poetry in a more disciplined fashion.  Recently, I have even toyed with trying my hand at a thriller/law firm novel...thinking that John Grisham and others don't speak for women lawyers.  I love the visual arts and often think in terms of pictures.

When I was more active on social media, I maintained a wordpress site where I occasionally posted poetry and other bits.   Romancing the Crone with Words – Poetry and other Writings by Ella Dodson (wordpress.com)

I would like to find a small group of dedicated writers who are willing to critically read my stuff and who expect the same from me.  I suspect that I need others to keep me honest  and who have a sense of humor about the writing process and about life.

Madame Oriley

Hi all,

My name is Brittani Ann and I play in a few different genres, mainly poetry and creative non-fiction. I have a minor in poetry and have been writing on my own since I was young but I am now looking to get a bit more serious with my work as well as engage and share with other writers. I am craving the community of those who are looking to critique, workshop, encourage, discuss and learn from one another.

Cliff

Had a few non-fiction pieces published after college (circa 2000), then went on to write and run my classic film website Immortal Ephemera beginning circa 2002. Self-published the first full-length biography of Golden Age film star Helen Twelvetrees in 2015. After that, the novel bug bit and I left the website aside to return to my first love, fiction writing. Have two completed novels in the drawer, but so far agent queries are unsuccessful. Have had a few flash pieces and shorter fiction pieces published by smaller and online lit journals.

I'm looking for some voices other than my own and the rare line or two I get back on rejected manuscripts. I had taken creative writing classes in college and miss the cooperation and help those roundtables provided myself and other writers alike.
