Cape Cod Writers Center Conference

The 2025 Cape Cod Writers Center Conference will be held from July 31 to August 3 at the Emerald Resort/Cape Cod Irish Village hotel in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction; an agent panel; and manuscript consultations with faculty. The faculty includes poet Sam Cha; fiction writers Tim Horvath and Kayleigh Shoen; fiction and creative nonfiction writers Angie Chatman and Javed Rezayee; and creative nonfiction writer Jennifer Crystal. Radio host Mindy Todd will deliver the keynote address.

Jan Michalski Foundation Residency

The Jan Michalski Foundation offers residencies of two weeks to three months year-round to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators at the foot of the Swiss Jura Mountains in Montricher, Vaud, Switzerland, one hour from Geneva. Residents are provided lodging in private cabins, each with a kitchenette, desk, and full bathroom; breakfasts and communal lunches; and access to a research library. The residency is free; all travel costs are covered, and weekly stipends of CHF 400 (approximately $475) are given for local transportation and groceries.

Yaddo offers two- to eight-week residencies year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York. Residents are provided with a private bedroom, work space, and meals. Under the Volcano Master Classes and Guided Residency

The 23rd annual Under the Volcano Master Classes and Guided Residency will be held from January 8, 2026, to January 24, 2026, in Tepoztlán, Mexico, a village located one hour south of Mexico City. Hambidge Creative Residency Program

The Hambidge Creative Residency Program offers residencies of two to six weeks from mid-February to mid-December to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on 600 forested acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern Georgia. Creative Writing Award

Two prizes of £2,500 (approximately $3,324) each and publication in the Aesthetica Creative Writing anthology are given annually for a poem and a short story. In addition, the winner in poetry receives a membership to the Poetry Society in London, a course from the arts organization Poetry School, and two online master classes from the London-based creative writing nonprofit Arvon. The winner in short fiction receives a five-day online course from Arvon and a consultation with the literary agency Redhammer Management. Both winners receive subscriptions to Granta, London Magazine, and Mslexia; membership to Litopia, an online writers’ community; and a six-week writing course from Curtis Brown Creative. Using only the online submission system, submit a poem of up to 40 lines with a £12 (approximately $16) entry fee or a short story of up to 2,000 words with an £18 (approximately $24) entry fee by August 31.
