Buinho Creative Hub offers residencies of two weeks to two months year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers in the historic town of Messejana, Portugal. Residents are provided with a single- or double-occupancy room in one of four traditional Portuguese houses, as well as access to private and shared studios. Residents also have access to a central studio and backyard workshop. The cost of the residency is €800 to €1,200 (approximately $931 to $1,397) per month, depending on the choice of room; transportation and meals are not included.

The Arteles Creative Center’s Silence Awareness Existence Residency Program offers one-month residencies to poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and translators from January to March in the countryside of Hämeenkyrö, Finland. Each resident is provided with a private bedroom and desk as well as access to shared kitchens, bathrooms, and studio spaces in two residency buildings. Residents also have access to a range of facilities, including a library, a meditation space, a sauna, and common areas. Two cars are available for transportation and exploration.

The Concord Free Public Library Writer-in-Residence Program offers a six-month residency from January to June to a poet, fiction writer, or creative nonfiction writer at the historic Concord Free Public Library (CFPL) in Concord, Massachusetts. The writer-in-residence is given a $10,000 stipend with the expectation that they will spend an average of eight hours a week at the library for the duration of the program and will develop public programming and social opportunities for the CFPL community.

Vashon Artist Residency offers two- and four-week residencies from January to November to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on half an acre of waterfront property on Vashon Island, a 20-minute ferry ride from Seattle. Residents are provided with a private room, studio, and bathroom, and a shared kitchen and living space. Residents are responsible for travel and meal costs. The cost of the residency is determined on a sliding scale based on financial need; the full price is $2,175 for four weeks and $1,275 for two weeks.

The 2026 Off Topic Writers’ Conference will be held online on August 8 and August 9. The conference features craft talks, panels, and workshops for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poet Oladosu Michael Emerald; poet and fiction writer Lori Green; fiction writers Finnian Burnett, Andy Charman, and Patricia Westerhof; and creative nonfiction writers Robyn Diner and Maryam Gowralli. Participating publishing professionals include copyright lawyer Andrew M. Shaughnessy (Torys) and editor Marion Lougheed (Off Topic Publishing).

The 2026 Jackson Hole Writers Conference will be held from October 21 to October 24 at the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts in Jackson, Wyoming. The conference features workshop intensives led by authors and their agents or editors, afternoon craft and publishing classes, lectures, panels, evening readings, and manuscript critiques for poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers. The faculty includes poets Kristina Marie Darling and Tiffany Troy; fiction writers Maile Chapman, Nina McConigley, and Téa Obreht; and creative nonfiction writers Mallory O’Meara and Michelle Orange.
