Kim Roberts Meikle

Kim Roberts Meikle is the author of seven books of poems, most recently Q&A for the End of the World, a collaboration with poet Michael Gushue (WordTech Editions, 2025). Meikle edited By Broad Potomac’s Shore: Great Poems from the Early Days of our Nation’s Capital (University of Virginia Press, 2020), selected by the East Coast Centers for the Book to represent Washington, DC in the Route 1 Reads program. She is the author of two guidebooks, The District’s Departed: Walking Tours of DC-Area Cemeteries (Rivanna Books, Fall 2026), and A Literary Guide to Washington, DC: Walking in the Footsteps of American Writers from Francis Scott Key to Zora Neale Hurston (University of Virginia Press, 2018) Meikle co-curates DC Pride Poem-a-Day each June, and co-directs the Pride Poetry Residency at the Arts Club of Washington, which awards five paid fellowships each year to LGBTQ+ poets from the greater DC area. She has been the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Humanities DC, and the DC Commission on the Arts, and has been a writer-in-residence at 21 artist colonies and nonprofits. http://www.kimroberts.org
