Broadleaf Writers Conference

The eleventh annual Broadleaf Writers Conference was held on September 19 and September 20 at the Decatur Library in Decatur, Georgia. The conference features panels, first page critiques, and workshops for fiction writers and nonfiction writers, as well as individual pitch and mentoring sessions with agents and publishing professionals. The faculty included fiction writers Milton Davis, Van Jensen, Lo Patrick, Bradley Sides, Chika Unigwe, and Michael Wehunt and nonfiction writers Felicia Feaster and Holly McClure. Participating publishing professionals include literary agents Lindsey Aduskevich (Martin Literary Services), Kelly Bergh (Lucinda Literary), and Haley Warrington (Albert Booker Literary Agency) and editor Kate McMullen (Hub City Press). The cost of the conference was $275, which included a consultation with an agent or publishing professional. Additional consultations were available for $25. Single-day passes were also available for $175. The cost to attend the conference virtually was $175; the rate for students, including a pitch session, was $125.
