Author's Bio

Richard Holeton is author of the breakout story collection Step Away from the Pizza: Fictions, etc. (stepawayfromthepizza.com), the postmodern cult classic hypertext novel Figurski at Findhorn on Acid (figurskiatfindhornonacid.com), other widely-exhibited multimedia and electronic literature, academic scholarship, and college textbooks. His short fiction, nominated for both Pushcart and Best American awards, has been published widely in literary journals such as Cimarron Review, Indiana Review, Mississippi Review, ZYZZYVA, Vassar Review, Notre Dame Review, and Cult Magazine. He has won fellowships and residencies from MacDowell, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Brown Foundation/Dora Maar House, the California Arts Council, and the Henfield Foundation. He's taught writing at Cañada College, San Francisco State University (where he received both MA and MFA degrees in Creative Writing), and for many years at Stanford University, where he earned a BA in English. Holeton is Assistant Vice Provost for Learning Environments, Emeritus, Stanford University, and he currently serves as Associate Editor for Flash Literature for Open: Journal of Arts & Letters; as a Global Outreach Affiliate for the Indian Consortium for Interactive Digital Narratives; and on the Academic Advisory Board for the International Certification of Evidence of Impact in Education.
