MacDowell offers residencies of up to six weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators on 450 wooded acres near Mt. Monadnock in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Residents are provided with a private room, work space, and all meals. Travel aid and personal expense grants are available based on need. For residencies from September 2023 through February 2024, using only the online application system, submit 6 to 10 poems totaling no more than 15 pages or 15 to 25 pages of prose and a project proposal with a $30 application fee from January 1 to February 10.
