Editorial Focus
Since launching in January of 2019, Sunspot Literary Journal has amplified diverse multinational voices. New works have been published in their original language side-by-side with English translations. Boundaries that exclude meaningful and important works have been broken by accepting extremely long-form pieces, a rarity in publishing today. Sunspot eagerly accepts fiction and nonfiction ranging from 4 words to 49,000 words in length, graphic novels from a single page to 120 pages, scripts, screenplays, and artwork of all types.
Tips From the Editor
Microfiction, flash fiction, poetry, short stories, plays, scripts, literary works and well-written genre pieces up to novella length are welcome at Sunspot. We also accept graphic novels of most lengths, including micro graphic novels. Accepting artwork of all types.
Please note that longer submissions are accepted only during the first part of each reading period. Novels and novelettes should be submitted early, before those individual forms close. Shorter pieces close later, with flash, very short stories, and artwork accepted through the end of each reading period.
