Editorial Focus
Since launching in January of 2019, Sunspot Literary Journal has amplified diverse multinational voices. Boundaries that exclude meaningful and important works have been broken by accepting extremely long-form pieces, a rarity in publishing today. No limits on genre, category or theme; the journal has published meaningful children's stories, interviews, science fiction, mixed-genre works, and more.
Tips From the Editor
Microfiction, flash fiction, poetry, short stories, plays, scripts, literary works and well-written genre pieces up to novella length are welcome. We also accept graphic novels and art.
Novellas and novellettes are accepted only during the first part of each quarter.
Sunspot offers a Fast Flux option for a slightly higher fee. Turnaround time for Fast Flux submissions runs from 1 to 2 weeks, with most responses going out within 4 calendar days.
Sunspot runs several contests to further support authors, poets, and artists. In addition to a cash prize for first place, Best Of selections for each category are made from the list of finalists. All finalists are offered publication.
