Editorial Focus
Nimrod International Journal of Prose and Poetry’s mission is the discovery, development, and promotion of new writing. Its spring issue is thematic and dedicated to work by writers from one region of the world or a particular subject. It hosts two prizes: the Francine Ringold Awards for New Writers and the Nimrod Literary Awards. It promotes a living literature, believing that it is possible to search for, recognize, and reward contemporary writing of imagination, substance, and skill.
Tips From the Editor
For fiction: vigorous, fresh writing; characters should be well-developed and believable. Dialogue should be realistic without being banal. For poetry: we seek poems that go beyond one word or image, honor the impulse to reveal a truth about, or persuasive version of, the inner and outer worlds.
