Author's Bio

Mario Chard was born in northern Utah. The son of an Argentine immigrant mother and an American father, he is the author of Land of Fire, winner of the Dorset Prize from Tupelo Press, the Georgia Author of the Year Award in Poetry, and named a 2018 Notable Debut by Poets & Writers Magazine. Winner of the “Discovery” / Boston Review Poetry Prize and a former Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, he teaches in Atlanta, Georgia, where he lives with his wife and sons.
