Since 1950, the BPJ has been publishing poetry that matters. We are open to a wide range of forms and styles in contemporary poetry. We are always watching for new poets, quickened language, and poems with a fresh purchase on the political or social landscape.
Tips From the Editor
The senior editors read every poem that comes in over the transom. We read year-round; do not charge reading fees during our twice-annual general reading periods; have two contests that require fees, the Adrienne Rich Award for Poetry, and the Chad Walsh Chapbook Series; allow simultaneous submissions; and are conscientious about responding to manuscripts promptly. In return, we ask that you honor our guidelines, listed on our website.
