Editorial Focus

Established in 1889, Poet Lore is the oldest continuously published poetry magazine in the United States. Poet Lore publishes semi-annual installments of the finest contemporary poetry both by established writers and those breaking into print. Their mission is of discovery, therefore every submission is read without regard to reputation by the Executive Editor.

Tips From the Editor

Submit up to 5 poems. Please wait 4 months before entering another submission. We limit the submissions to 5 poems or less because we have a small staff and we make it a priority to have each set of poems reach the hands of our executive editors. Please do not staple manuscripts. Please do let us know if we have met and/or published you before. If submitting simultaneously, please also let us know the moment your poems are accepted elsewhere, via e-mail, so we can move on to other fine work.
