Author's Bio

JOY DEVA BAGLIO is a speculative-literary fiction writer and the founder of Pioneer Valley Writers’ Workshop, a literary arts organization based in Northampton MA and virtually. Her short stories are widely published and forthcoming in journals such as One Story, Ploughshares, The Missouri Review, The Iowa Review, American Short Fiction, Tin House, Conjunctions, and elsewhere - including two stories optioned for film/TV. She's received fellowships and residencies from Yaddo, Ragdale, The Kerouac Project, Vermont Studio Center, Bread Loaf, Sewanee Writers Conference, The Porches, and grants in support of her current novel-in-progress (How to Survive on Land) from The Elizabeth George Foundation and The Speculative Literature Foundation. Her fiction has been nominated (by Ploughshares) for the Pushcart Prize, and she won (third place) in the 2023  Zoetrope All-Story Fiction Contest. Joy holds an MFA from The New School and is represented by Peter Steinberg, at United Talent Agency & Sean Daily Hotchkiss, for film/TV. Find her online at www.JoyBaglio.com.
