
The 2026 Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference will be held from August 12 to August 22 amid the Green Mountains of Ripton, Vermont. The conference features workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as lectures; craft classes; meetings with editors, agents, and publishers; and readings by faculty and guests. The faculty includes poets Catherine Barnett, Rick Barot, Jericho Brown, Gabrielle Calvocoressi, Camille T. Dungy, and Patrick Phillips; fiction writers Marie-Helene Bertino, Alexander Chee, Brock Clarke, Maria Hummel, Elizabeth McCracken, Chigozie Obioma, Chinelo Okparanta, Rion Amilcar Scott, Luis Alberto Urrea, and Tiphanie Yanique; and creative nonfiction writers Toni Jensen and Paul Lisicky. Tuition, which includes lodging and meals, is $4,440. Financial aid is available. To apply, submit up to 10 pages of poetry or no more than 6,000 words of prose with a $25 application fee by March 15. Visit the website for more information.
