Author's Bio

Lauren Tivey has recently returned to the U.S. after living in China for the past six years, where she worked as an English Literature teacher in the American Program at a Chinese high school. Lauren received her undergraduate degree in poetry and literature from Granite State College in 2005, and her MFA in poetry from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2008, where she was the recipient of the Jack Myers Scholarship for Outstanding Poetry. She is a Pushcart Prize nominee (2016, 2019), and her poems have appeared in Split Lip Magazine, The Legendary, Deuce Coupe, Blue Lake Review, Gutter Eloquence, Snakeskin, Sierra Nevada Review, Red River Review, Medicinal Purposes, Timber Creek Review, Sahara, and Red Owl, among many other literary journals in the US and the UK. An avid traveler, she has also written a number of travel stories, which appear online. Her third chapbook, The Breakdown Atlas & Other Poems, was released in July of 2011 by Big Table Publishing Co., and her most recent work, Moroccan Holiday, winner of The Poetry Box Chapbook Prize 2019, will be forthcoming this winter.
