Lauren Tivey (she/her) has recently returned to the U.S. after living in China for the past six years, where she worked as an English Literature teacher in the American Program at a Chinese high school. Lauren received her undergraduate degree in poetry and literature from Granite State College in 2005, and her MFA in poetry from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2008, where she was the recipient of the Jack Myers Scholarship for Outstanding Poetry. She is a Pushcart Prize nominee (2016, 2019, 2020), and Best of the Net nominee (2021), and her poems have appeared in the anthologies A Human Voice, and The Cool Zone. Individual poems have been in Grimoire Magazine, Deuce Coupe, Anvil Tongue, Blue Lake Review, Gutter Eloquence, Snakeskin, Sierra Nevada Review, Red River Review, Medicinal Purposes, Fleur de Lis Poetry, Timber Creek Review, Sahara, and Red Owl, among dozens of web and print publications in the US and UK. An avid traveler, she has also written a number of travel stories, which appear online. Her two early chapbooks, Dance of the Fire Horse (1993), and Her Blood Runs Through Me (1996), both published by Howlin' Wolf Press, are out of print. Her third chapbook, The Breakdown Atlas & Other Poems (2011) was released by Big Table Publishing Co., and her most recent work, Moroccan Holiday (2020), was the first place winner of The Poetry Box Chapbook Prize 2019. Her full-length debut collection, Traveler in the Sunset Clouds, will be released by Main Street Rag Publishing Company in September, 2022.
