Garnet Juniper Bennet

Garnet Juniper Bennet is an educator & writer corrupted in the American high desert who now attempts redemption practicing their craft in the Pacific Northwest. Garnet’s work has been included in publications such as Rattle, Lunch Ticket‘s Amuse Bouche, Salamander, Waxwing, Poet Lore, Ninth Letter, Frontier Poetry, Salt Hill, & Pidgeonholes, & has received nominations for Best of the Net & Pushcart prizes. In 2025 their poem “Burnout” was selected for 1st place in the 2024 OxMag Crystal Ox Poetry Contest, and their poem “anticipating flame” was selected for 2nd runner-up in Palette Poetry‘s Previously Published Poem Contest and was featured in Palette. Their manuscript angel/androgyne was most recently shortlisted for the 2023 Catamaran Literary Reader West Coast Poetry Prize & the 2024 Donald Justice Poetry Prize, and their manuscript signs & signals was shortlisted in the Zone 3 Press First Poetry Book Award of 2023.
