Author's Bio

Erin Slaughter is editor/co-founder of The Hunger, and the author of I Will Tell This Story to the Sun Until You Remember That You Are the Sun (New Rivers Press, 2019) as well as two poetry chapbooks: GIRLFIRE (dancing girl press, 2018) and Elegy for the Body (Slash Pine Press, 2017). Her writing has appeared in Black Warrior Review, PANK, Cincinnati Review, The Rumpus, Prairie Schooner, Split Lip Magazine, and elsewhere, and she has received support from PEN America and the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild. Originally from north Texas, she is pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing at Florida State University, where she serves as Nonfiction Editor for the Southeast Review and co-hosts the Jerome Stern Reading Series. Her second full-length poetry collection, The Sorrow Festival, is forthcoming from CLASH Books in 2022.
