The Malahat Review is among Canada’s leading literary journals. Published quarterly, it features contemporary works of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction by emerging and established writers from around the world. TMR is a multiple National Magazine Award, Western Magazine Award, and Journey, O. Henry, and Pushcart Prize recipient.
Tips From the Editor
We read submissions from Canadian writers all year. Because we receive so many submissions, we accept work from international writers only during certain months, depending on the genre.
Poetry: January, February, May, June, July, and November.
Fiction: March, April, September, and October.
Creative nonfiction: open all year to international writers.
Literary magazines are time-intensive operations often run by or with the assistance of volunteers. Please help us all save time, energy, and eyesight by preparing submissions thoughtfully and carefully.
