The Malahat Review is among Canada’s leading literary journals. Published quarterly, it features contemporary works of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction by emerging and established writers from around the world.
Many Malahat Review contributors and contest winners have gone on to be recognized by the National Magazine Awards, the McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize, the Best Canadian anthologies, the Alberta Literary Awards, the PEN/O. Henry Prize, and the PEN/Robert J. Dau Prize.
Tips From the Editor
We read submissions from Canadian writers from January 1 to June 30. Because we receive so many submissions, we accept work from international (including United States) writers only during the months of January and May.
Literary magazines are time-intensive operations often run by or with the assistance of volunteers. Please help us all save time, energy, and eyesight by preparing submissions thoughtfully and carefully.
