Author's Bio

I'm a fiction writer and poet, who studied at UC Irvine (MFA) and Florida State University (PhD). I'm the author of two books of fiction (The Australia Stories and Newsworld), as well as the editor of many anthologies of short fiction and one textbook (Behind the Short Story). Presently I’m an associate professor at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obipso, California, where co-direct the creative writing program. My creative work has appeared in roughly 75 journals.
