Author's Bio

Robert Kerbeck’s writing has recently appeared or is forthcoming in upstreet, Gargoyle, The Normal School, Cream City Review, and The MacGuffin. Based on his short stories, Robert was selected for mentorship by the managing editor of Tin House. One of those stories was acquired and adapted into the film, Reconnected, opening in 2018. A lifetime member of The Actors Studio, Robert has worked extensively in theater, film, and television, appearing in lead roles in major shows and earning several awards, including an L.A. Weekly award and a Drama-Logue award. He founded the Malibu Writers Circle (MWC) to give Los Angeles-based writers a constructive place to work on their material while enjoying an ocean view. He has attended Tin House (twice), Bread Loaf (twice), and numerous writing workshops at the University of Iowa. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

Prizes won: 

His story, "Follicular Rivalry," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

His story, "A Dish Best Served Warm," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

His story, "Re: Connected," was acquired and adapted into a film opening in 2018.

His story, "Breaststroker," was the recepient of the upstreet short fiction scholarship at the VCFA Postgraduate Writers Conference.
