Cooper lives on the Colorado Front Range and is the founder and managing editor of Sequestrum (www.sequestrum.org). Dozens of his short stories have appeared in journals including Adroit, Baltimore Review, Berkeley Fiction Review, Best American Experimental Writing, The Best Small Fictions, Cream City Review, Denver Quarterly, Diagram, Fourteen Hills, Fugue, Lumina, Midwestern Gothic, Natural Bridge, Normal School, Oxford Magazine, Prairie Schooner, Passages North, The Pinch, Portland Review, Redivider, Sierra Nevada Review, Southern Indiana Review, Vine Leaves, Willow Springs, Wisconsin Review, Yemassee, and elsewhere. He has received awards and recognition from UC Berkeley (Berkeley Fiction Award 2014), American Short Fiction (Best American Short(er) Fiction semi-finalist 2017), and Sonder Press (The Best Small Fictions 2019: Spotlight Judge Selection).
