Mike Good completed his MFA from Hollins University in 2016 and received his BA in English Writing and History from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. From 2018 to 2024, he served as managing editor of Autumn House Press and has worked in various nonprofit roles throughout his career, serving on grantmaking panels for the Poetry Foundation, Heinz Endowents, Greater Pittsburgh Council on the Arts, and he has served as an editorial consultant to Frontier's Poetry Lab. He is a voting member of the National Book Critics Circle and Certified Fund-Raising Executive from CFRE International.
His poetry and criticism have appeared in or is forthcoming at a variety of venues, including The Adroit Journal, Birdfeast, The Carolina Quarterly, Colorado Review, december, Foreword Reviews, Forklift OH, Full-Stop.net, Five Points, The Georgia Review, Pleiades, Ploughshares, Rattle, Salamander, SOFTBLOW, Sugar House Review, Terrain.org, Tusculum Review, and elsewhere. His work has received support from Hollins University, The Sun, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference (2021), and Aspen Words (2024), and he has been nominated for the Best New Poets anthology.
He is at work on his first poetry collection.
