Author's Bio

I'm the author of Blood Strangers: A Memoir, published in 2010 by Heyday Books. It was a LAMBDA Literary Award Finalist, and an essay gathered from the book was a Pushcart nominee. I published another memoir under a pen name in order to provide privacy for my family; it was an INDIES Award Silver Medalist. I'm currently shopping a novel about the intersection of black and white lives in 1968 in the Midwest, and I'm at work on another novel.
