Bonnie Jill Emanuel's poems appear or will appear in American Poetry Review, Colorado Review, Passages North, Mid-American Review, Ruminate, The Laurel Review, Midwest Review, Great Lakes Review, SWWIM, Night Heron Barks and elsewhere. She has published political poems in Love's Executive Order, Indolent Books Online, and more. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing (2020) from The City College of New York, where she received the Jerome Lowell DeJur Award in Creative Writing for her full-length thesis manuscript and the Stark Poetry Prize in Memory of Raymond Patterson for a series of poems about Detroit.  A 2022 Best Of The Net nominee, & twice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, she is a poetry reader for Bellevue Literary Review. Born in Detroit, she now lives in New York.
